HELLO YALETOWN! INDOCHINO OPENS DOORS TO NEW FLAGSHIP STORE CONCEPT IN ITS HOMETOWN

Vancouver, BC - Indochino, the Vancouver-based pioneer in custom menswear, is thanking its loyal Vancouver customers by moving to a beautiful 4,000 square foot flagship showroom in Yaletown. The new showroom at 1014 Homer Street includes a Groom’s Lounge and promises an elevated shopping experience, making it easier than ever for men to get great fitting, personalized clothing at an incredible value. Appointments can be made at www.indochino.com/vancouver.

The new showroom is modern, spacious and bright, and has been designed to offer more room for men to shop the wide variety of custom suits, shirts and accessories, whatever the occasion. Large fabric panels hang next to mannequin clusters showcasing the top suiting designs and endless customization options. There is an area dedicated to formal wear and another featuring Indochino’s extensive shirting range. Indochino’s new Fall collection is on display, which presents the latest in suiting styles, colours and patterns.

Nearby, tables with marble, glass and walnut finishes are devoted to iMac working stations, custom shirting options, and accessories, including pocket squares, ties, tie clips and cufflinks. When they are not shopping, guests can sit back and relax on comfy leather sofas in the lounge area.

The Groom’s Lounge is an exclusive area for men getting married to enjoy the kind of luxury shopping experience that until now has been reserved for brides. Complete with sofas and a foosball table, this masculine space contains everything the group needs to get dressed for the big day, allowing the groom and his groomsmen to have fun and relax in comfort while they get measured and coordinate their outfits.

The showroom is located in the heart of Yaletown on one of the main arteries into the city, close to Yaletown Skytrain Station, making it easily accessible to those living and working in greater Vancouver. Its current Gastown location will close from August 13 onwards.

“We’ve had an outstanding year in Vancouver! We’ve grown so much that we’re now at the point where we need a bigger space,” said Kyle Vucko, Indochino’s CEO and co-founder. “We want to thank our local guys for helping us get to where we are today with our best ever store that we hope will inspire them to dress their best everyday.”

HOW THE SHOWROOM WORKS
Searching for a suit that fits straight off-the-rack is a thing of the past. Customers arrive at their appointment and work individually with an Indochino Style Guide to create one-of-a-kind custom suits from $449 and shirts from $79. They get professionally measured before choosing from the latest suiting designs and endless customization options, including buttons, vents, pockets, lapels and monograms.

The finished garment is delivered in four weeks and customers return for a second fitting to make sure the suit or shirt fits perfectly. The custom suiting process is risk free: Indochino covers the cost of alterations; will remake the garment for free; or offer a full refund.

A REVOLUTIONARY CONCEPT
Indochino has had a stellar year as it continues on its mission to get more men in more suits. Over the past 12 months the company has opened six showrooms in Vancouver, Toronto, New York, San Francisco, Philadelphia and Boston. A seventh location opens in Beverly Hills on August 20, and there are plans to have ten locations open by the end of the year.

Indochino’s founders first came up with the idea while studying together at the University of Victoria. They struggled to find an affordable suit that fit well and, seeing a missed opportunity in the space – delivering men’s custom apparel cost-effectively – in 2007 they created the first online company to deliver mass custom-made apparel to men everywhere.

The company first moved offline in 2011 and hosted the first of 26 ‘Traveling Tailor’ pop-up event in Vancouver. Indochino then trialled its first longer-term showroom in its Railtown headquarters before moving to Gastown in October 2014. The relocation to Yaletown comes after the concept proved so successful that Indochino began opening all its showrooms on a permanent basis in 2015.
